Database administrator (SQL)

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The DBA is part of the Business Operations team which is based in Eindhoven and Los Angeles. Business Operations is responsible for installing equipment/products for customers and providing first and second line support. It also deals with all IT related activities for our own organization. RESPONSIBILITIES main responsibility is to maintain the Teletrax and Mediahedge databases. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining, on a daily basis, databases using MSSQL on Windows and MySQL on Windows and Linux (Redhat) platforms, including importing database exports from customers into customized databases
- Designing and maintaining the set-up and structure of the databases
- Configuring, testing and implementing databases on the basis of functional and technical specs
- Optimizing, monitoring and tuning the databases
- Testing web based applications using MSSQL and MySQL databases
- Watching over the integrity of the databases
- Taking care of the installation and maintenance of the database management systems
- Participating in projects
- Supporting in other IT related activities
- Web Platform configuration
- General Linux and Windows system administration
You report to the Head of Global Business Operations.
PROFILE
Education/Experience:
- You have an IT education/degree and several years of experience with MSSQL and/or MySQL databases and servers
- You have good knowledge of database design and indexation
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux (Redhat) operating systems is an advantage
- You are experienced in writing MySQL scripts and can build queries on your own
Personal skills:
- You are enthousiastic and you have a professional attitude
- You are results driven.
- While being part of a team, you are a self-starter and independent worker
- You have no 9-to-5 mentality and are flexible in working hours
- Good in English
