priv-ID is a spinout of Philips Research that focuses on protecting biometric (fingerprints, iris scans etc.) data.

It does this by not storing the biometric data itself but an encrypted derived anonymous identifier. This identifier is inherently secure because there is no need (and actually there is no way) to ever get back to the unencrypted domain.
